It's time you learned the two game-changing words that will transform your business!
If you want to grow your service business in profound ways, there are a number of strategies and tactics that you can implement to do it. Maybe you can increase your trade lines, or maybe you can improve your branding, or maybe you can increase your stackable marketing.
There are many things you could do.
But if you want to know one of the easiest and fastest ways to start transforming your business in an amazing way, you might be surprised to learn that you can start by simply adding 2 words to your vocabulary.
And those two words are: “thank you.”
And I don’t just mean grunting “thanks” when a vendor drops off the supplies you were expecting; I mean a genuine and heart-felt “thank you” that comes from a place of true appreciation.
“Thank You” Is Missing From Business Vocabulary
We live in a world where the words “thank you” are missing from our business vocabulary.
Yes, we might say “thank you” to customers, but that’s about it… and even then, we might reserve our most genuine thanks for when they hand over the check for the amount they owe.
But other than that, we don’t really thank people.
If I were to guess about why this is, I think it may have to do with a few factors – we’re busy and distracted; and another key factor is that we’re really not appreciative of the time and effort and money that other people give. But when people give us anything we should say thank you.
The Power Of Thank You
Different people give us different things in our business. Customers give us money for the service we perform; employees give their time and effort to do their work; vendors give us time and effort to provide us with supplies and raw materials; even city officials who send out inspectors to job sites are giving their time to do their work.
And although you could make the argument that they are only giving us something because we’re giving them something (i.e. an employee gives their time for a paycheck or a vendor gives supplies and wants their invoice to be paid), here’s the important part that is easy to miss:
… They are all contributing to your business.
Yes, it’s an exchange… but it’s YOUR business. And not only that but we live in an era where there is so little true, genuine appreciation anymore.
So when someone does something for you… even when it’s a vendor delivering the supplies you ordered and paid for, and even when it’s an employee who shows up on time and does their job, thank them.
Give them a genuine “thank you”. If you’re seeing them face-to-face, look them in the eye and give them a warm “thank you.” Or you might send out a periodic email to your vendors or employees to say, “I just wanted to take a minute to recognize your hard work and to say ‘thank you’ for everything you do.”
“Thank you” – they’re 2 simple words, yet we so easily gloss over them and ignore their importance. But if you use them in your business, you’ll make a lasting impact on the people you work with and create a more positive, more loyal experience for everyone.
