Hate Meetings? Do this Instead! [10th Day of Christmas]
by Mike J. Agugliaro
At CEO Warrior, we’re counting down to Christmas with some amazing gifts to you. Here’s a gift for today—ten days before Christmas. (Plus I have another gift for you in the PS!)
… do you enjoy your meetings?
… do your employees?
I’m going to guess that you and/or your team probably tolerate your meetings but would rather be doing just about anything else!
Meetings may not always seem as productive as getting your team onto the road to serve customers but they can be powerful ways to align your team and inspire them… so don’t scrap all your meetings or wish you didn’t have to have them!
Instead, take a different approach.
What do you think would happen if you and your team actually looked forward to your meetings? Do you think more people would show up? Would they show up with better attitudes? Would they be engaged? Would they remember what they learned? Would they look forward to the next meeting?
The simple solution is: make your meetings fun. Yes, you can still communicate important information but why not have fun doing it?
Here are some ways to make your meetings fun:
- Play loud music to pump everyone up
- Play a relevant, memorable video before the meeting starts
- Hold contests
- Play a simple game
- Spin a wheel for prizes
- Use a money gun to shoot money into the crowd
These are small fun ideas that can really change the dynamics of your meetings and get people LOOKING FORWARD to those company meetings that they used to dread.
Plus YOU will have a lot more fun too!
(Bonus idea: Employees may not leave or stay with your company BECAUSE of your meetings but when they’re telling their friends about where they work, imagine the impact if your employees say: “even our meetings are fun!”)
