Don’t Be Afraid of “No” – It Can Help Your Business Grow!

If you’re trying to grow your service business, it can be tempting to say “Yes” to every opportunity that comes along. But is every networking or marketing opportunity the best use of your time and resources?

With ServiceKey, I want to show you how you can take your company to the next level and create wealth, freedom, and market domination. I know it’s hard, especially when you feel like you’re working all the time, stretched so thin, and you’re in desperate need of a great team to take some of the pressure off you.

Here’s the honest truth: sometimes you have to say “No.”

This is the case in a variety of situations. You can’t take every service call yourself. You can’t please all your customers, vendors, your professional network, and your family and friends, all single-handedly.

But I know, you want to. Everyone worries that if they say “No” to something, people won’t like them, or they’ll let someone down. However, there is only so much you can do – and if you take a step back and allow yourself to say “No” once in a while, you’ll actually help your business grow.

Not sure how that works? It’s pretty simple, really: If you’re being selective about your responsibilities and opportunities, you’ll take on only the ones that will actually benefit you. It’s the difference between being proactive and reactive. If you’re reactive, you’ll end up as a slave, to your customers, employees, and everyone else. You’ll never achieve goals because you’re constantly chasing the next dollar. On the other hand, if you’re proactive, you’re actually taking positive steps toward growing your business – picking the right marketing opportunities, hiring the right people, working with the right vendors to help you get the job done.

You’ll need to create a list of criteria – for projects, for events, and for marketing opportunities. Each time one presents itself, assess if it will add value to your company – if so, say “Yes.” If not, then practice declining – be polite about it and I promise you won’t damage relationships or lose respect!

Ultimately, follow your gut – if something doesn’t feel like it’s going to help your business grow, then let it go. I promise in the long run it will make your business better.
