Hey. Mike Aguilaro here, Business Warrior, bringing you another video from our big-ass war room, here, over at the Gold Medal HQ Headquarters. What I wanted to tell you is … First of all, let me ask you a question. Play full out with me a little bit here. Are you a good multitasker? Go ahead, answer it. A lot of you said, “Yeah,” some said, “No.” Well, here’s the deal. Being a multitasker sucks, and I’m going to tell you why. See, you need, when you’re multitasking, you’re multi-switching. Your brain’s going back and forth, so you’re never giving anything 100% of one attention. If you just examine your behaviors from this morning to now, I bet you were on the phone with somebody and you’re texting, or, you’re on the phone, and you’re Facebooking. You’re talking to somebody and you’re in your computer, so you’re not really multitasking, you’re multi-switching, like this.
Today it’s harder than ever not to multi-switch. All the distractions, and everything is just moving so fast, back and forth, back and forth. The thing is, you need to become a single tasker. Now, to single task, there’s an easy way, and a hard way. The easy way is to condition your brain to only function in single tasking and control all the other noise. I’m very good at that. When I’m in my box, my zone of single tasking, I’m like … The dog, the wife, the kids, I’m like, “Guys, I’m in the single tasking box. I can only function on right what I am on.”
When people look at me like I’m getting stuff done so fast, they’re like, “Mike, you’re working on … Your third book’s done, and you 9 Pillars project, all this stuff.” They’re like, “Oh my God, how do you get it all done?” Really, what I don’t tell them is I’m a single tasker. I stick myself in a zone and I don’t get distracted. Now, some people can’t do that, and if you can’t do that, look, you need to go into a box, a room, you need to leave the cellphone out, leave the computer out. Go in their with your pad or only what you need. If you’ve got to go in there with your computer, you have to shut everything off, and you have to control the addiction to touch things and constantly move things at one time.
I know. Look, I fight with the addiction sometimes too. I go in, I’m like, “Okay. I’m going to sift through all my emails to get to inbox zero.” In case you don’t know what inbox zero is, it’s where you get all your emails gone, nothing left in there, closed out. I know sometimes I’m working, all of the sudden, boop, and I’m like, “Oh, shit.” I got to get that thing to inbox zero, so I’m over there in the email, and then I come back, and I’m like, “Oh, yeah, let me work …” Boop. I’m like, “Oh my God. Facebook zero.” You’re like, “What? I never heard that one.” Yeah, Facebook zero is all of the sudden a message pops up in Facebook, or a post, and you’re like, “Oh my God. I got to check that now.” You’re over into Facebook. All of a sudden, where’s your switching meter? It’s like …
In the end, you’re like, “Oh my God, it’s such a busy day. It was so hard today.” I’m like, “No. You just been doing stuff too much like this, that’s not getting your result.” You got to go to single task, not multitask, single task focus, then you’ll crush this. Here’s the action item today. First, evaluate your behaviors. What’s been going on? What were you just doing? I bet you got this video playing and you’re checking the damn email. Is that true? You can’t get anything done when you’re doing that. Examine your behaviors that happen, and then make a conscious decision that, “I’m going to go to single task.” Okay, yeah, you can go to inbox zero and all that, but don’t let that take you out of the single task focus. That’s what you need.
All right, I’m Mike Aguilaro, I’m wishing you a better and great day today, and every day. I’m just committed to getting you massive wealth. What? Tons of freedom and market domination. You rock. You do. I’m just telling you, in case no one’s telling you, you rock.
