Hey, Mike Agugliaro here, bringing you another video. Today I want to talk about how do you recognize your employees? Sometimes we think you’re going to have make this big fancy plaque or you have to do this big monumental thing. Sometimes recognition is just like, hey, I just want to let you know. Give a little kudos pat on the back. Sometimes it’s as simple as a five dollar gift card to get a cup of coffee or maybe it’s just posting something on the wall. It’s just a sheet of paper with a picture of them, recognizing them.
I heard a great marketer the other day say something about it’s not about the employee of the month, it’s about the employee of the moment. I think when you think about that, the employee of the moment, how powerful is that? Now as you’re walking through your culture and your company and around everybody, you’re looking for those magic moments and it’s a great way to recognize people. A lot of times they just want the words. Yeah, so money doesn’t hurt either. A lot of times we just give surprises. We have a little gun. We shoot cash out of it.
We try to make things like this, I want to recognize and create an experience in the recognition. If you just go through life about thinking through that recognition and you say how do I recognize them, but how do I create an experience for that employee or even a customer in the recognition, you’re going to get some real magic out of that.
