Business Breakthrough: Patterns, Habits and Outcomes

That’s not what I’m here to talk to you about today.

Today I’m here to talk to you about how do we get outcomes, how do we create the outcome to make the outcome something that grows and lasts. Here’s what I’ve learned, first you’ve got to create patterns. You have to have patterns of behaviors that you do. Let’s look at an example of a pattern because you have … Most of you are creatures of habit, right? You come home, your keys going one place, your shoes go with another. You get in the morning, you have this routine. So as much as this pattern that you start doing … Because it’s not like you were born and this is the sequence you have to do. You created this sequence of patterns.

The good thing is the patterns create habits and habits can create outcomes. Now what happens when you do bad patterns like maybe you’re not responsible and you make bad decisions. Will those patterns can create poor habits and then they’re just destructive. So today I challenge you to look at your own patterns and see what habits have they created.

Now are you stuck with the habit forever? Will know, I mean my dad smoked for 50 years, now he’s a non-smoker. That clearly was a pattern, give up light a cigarette. It created a habit and then the habit was for years and years until one day, boom, he had to change things. He probably had to change it for a good reason because if he kept smoking for 10 more years it probably would have killed him.

So what do you do? First, look at your patterns today that you’re doing or you’re starting, because you’re starting new patterns every day. Look at the habits you already have created and then ask yourself are they serving you, are they serving the business, are they serving your customers, are they serving your employees.
