Business Breakthrough: Targets

Boom. Mike Agugliaro, business ninja, founder of $23 million business blueprint and service business wonder mastermind. I’m here to talk about targets. Yeah, I know I probably did another video about targets but I want to tell you something about targets that I think you’re missing.
Now look, most people that are either growing their business or have a big business, they’re working five days, six days, seven days a week. But here’s what I’m going to tell you about targets. If you’re one of those guys that likes to be home at five but you didn’t hit your target today, don’t go home. Don’t go home. Don’t tell me I’m not doing amazing and you’re home at [4:30] sipping on iced tea with your feet up in a chair. Shame on you. It’s your fault. Sometimes you got to dig your ass in. You have to get strong to get to your target.
So here’s my rule of thumb. If you’re not done by five, don’t go home. And when it hits Friday, if you have not hit your target, your revenue target, your customer satisfaction target…Oh my God that almost didn’t come out. Customer satisfaction target, guess what? You’re coming in on Saturday. Yes. Tell your family “I have to work Saturday because I need to hit the target because at the end of the day who are you letting down when you don’t hit your targets?
Let’s be real. YOu’re letting down your employees, you’re letting down the customers, you’re letting down your family, you’re letting down yourself. You’re letting down your vendors. You’re like “Oh I’m sorry I can’t make a payment today because I didn’t want to come in on Saturday.”
And some of you watching are like “I’m already working seven days a week.” Well, how smart are you working then? If you’re already stuck in quicksand and you know that if you move too much you keep sinking, you need someone to extend a branch or a rope and pull you out.
I’m good at that if you need it. If you don’t, take the value from the video and apply it. This is the same lesson that you should be giving your managers. At the end of the day, you need outcomes. You have to hit the target. Anything less is unacceptable. So today I want you to make sure you have your targets. I know a lot of you are even afraid to write it down. That thing has to be big bold and in front your face every day. This is what I need to get done today. This is what has to be done by Monday.
All right. Enough said. I didn’t mean to give you so much tough love. I did. I actually enjoyed it. Especially because you’re not in front of me so we can’t fight or nothing.
